About Mr Simon Mackey

As a leading Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon, Mr. Simon Mackey has established a strong international reputation not only on account of his meticulous attention to detail, but his easy-going and holistic approach towards all of his patients.

Simon’s breadth of medical training has given him a fine-tuned knowledge of the human physique and ability to achieve beautiful and natural outcomes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Simon’s understanding of both specialties improves and inflects the other- whilst reconstruction works to restore form and function, cosmetic surgery strives to improve the aesthetic. This balance of skill paves the way for the best possible patient outcomes.

With over fifteen years of experience, Simon’s values are inspired by an ethos which focuses on safety and empowering the individual through excellent surgical results. His strong reputation is built on empathy and supporting patients on their journey to physical and psychological wellbeing.

Simon is a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He is also on the GMC’s Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. These organisations only accept members who are fully trained in plastic surgery and as such promote reliability and patient safety.

Simon holds NHS clinics at the Queen Victoria Hospital, Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust, and Sevenoaks Hospital. Simon’s private practice is based in East Grinstead at The McIndoe Centre and KIMS Hospital, Maidstone.

Education and Academia

Simon graduated from the Imperial College School of Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, London. After basic-surgical training in the Oxford Deanery, he was appointed to the Pan-Thames Higher Surgical Training scheme in plastic surgery. He then went on to complete his training with specialist fellowships in cosmetic surgery at The McIndoe Centre, and in cancer reconstruction and microsurgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London.

Simon has published widely on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in British and international journals alike. Furthermore, Simon has authored numerous book chapters and been invited to speak at national and international plastic surgery meetings
